Weekend Warrior: How You Can Stop Worrying & Start Kicking Ass

Weekend Warrior

I’m here to redefine what it means to be a Weekend Warrior.

Most people use the weekend to forget the drudgery of the work week and completely check-out from the idea of working on anything productive.

Instead, they kill themselves with the distractions of drugs and alcohol. This is why they never accomplish their goals.

The Weekend Warrior is a new weekly email series here at Demons & Destiny.

Each Saturday, I’ll be sending out a short list of ACTIONABLE STEPS you can take to improve your body, mind, and skills.

This will typically include the following:

  • A workout for you to complete.
  • A quote for you to contemplate.
  • A martial arts video for you to study and practice.
  • Anything else on my mind.

If you’ve been neglecting the weekends and destroying yourself with alcohol, this series will help jump-start your road to redemption.

Here’s what a typical Weekend Warrior email will look like.

Complete 5 rounds for time, wearing a 20 lb weight vest or body armor.

  • 30 body squats
  • 20 pushups
  • 10 pullups
  • 20 kettlebell swings
  • 30 second low plank

Complete each exercise in order, with little to no rest. Do not rest in between rounds.

Record your completion time to track your improvements in the future.

Only the dead have seen the end of war.” — Plato

This quote has stuck with me since childhood. What does this mean to you?

For me, it serves as a reminder that war is deeply intertwined with the human condition. Only the Reaper can put an end to War.

Don’t get sloppy in your training. Have a game plan when you’re working on the bag.

If you’re having trouble confronting your own weaknesses and excuses, you need to read Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. The audio version is incredible.

The stories from U.S. Navy Seals and how they exercise extreme ownership over a situation will light a fire under your ass.

If they don’t, I can’t help you…

And that’s it!

That’s what a Weekend Warrior email looks like.
